What You Don’t Know Can Hurt You.

A tree has roots that go deep.

In the same way we all have beliefs that go deep into our subconscious minds.

Our beliefs feed or direct our actions or lack of actions. The problem that many people don’t know or realize is that most of our beliefs are created in our youth. Most beliefs that affect our daily actions are created during the ages of up to around age 9.

When we get older we create new beliefs, however they are molded under the influence of our original beliefs. As we grow these older beliefs may no longer serve us and need to be changed.

For a few people this is not a problem as they can simply say, this is what I want now and their beliefs mold to their new dream or goals.

Most people are not so lucky and have a very hard time changing their beliefs.

Why do many people have such a hard time changing their beliefs?

The reason is called homeostasis. Homeostasis is the mind ability to keep us safe. Homeostasis doesn’t like change because change is something new and our mind don’t understand the new. For this reason our minds come up with ways to keep us under the spell of are old beliefs.

Another way to look at this is our mind likes what is familiar and will tend to shy away from what is not familiar.
